Scenario 1
i was supposed to meet a friend at 12pm today. since i finished my lesson at 11am and was supposed to have lunch with him, i skipped lunch and waited for time to pass by. friend then called and said he could only meet at 1 plus, i said never mind so i waited again.
i was bored so my classmates played mahjong while i did some work. seeing it wasn't time to go and friend hadn't called me yet, i played with them. we just finished arranging the tiles when friend called again at 2pm and said we could meet immediately. i felt bad to leave halfway during the game so i asked if he could wait for my game to finish which i assume would only take 15 minutes. friend got pissed and cancelled the meeting as he was very tired.
i waited for 3 hours without lunch and all i asked was an additional 15 minutes to finish a game. but friend had only 3 hours of sleep because he was doing 3 shifts of duty and that i understand that he was very tired. but all i needed was 15 minutes. i would have waited if i were him. it's not like 1 hour. it's only 15 minutes. it's like the time you need for going to the toilet/buying a set of newspapers.
i didn't explain this to friend. i didn't feel the need to. defending is something i'm now very lazy to do. since he cancelled the meeting, that was it. if friend thinks he didn't have anything to eat, i didn't have any too when i could have eaten but i chose not to because we were supposed to have lunch together.
any fairness?

Scenario 2
i was doing project till late last night and the night before, i asked my mum if she cooked dinner and whether i needed to go back for dinner or not. she said she would call me again and confirm.
and she DID cook dinner last night (without informing me), expecting me to go home and have dinner. and when i called her to tell her i'd be home late and eating dinner outside, she chided me for not going home for dinner when she was the one who said she'd call me to confirm.
any fairness?
i so do not want to quarrel anymore. sighs. i'm giving up my freedom to even argue.
