cAn YoU uNdErsTanD?

i realise there is joy and happiness in everything you see and do. for the everyday in our lives, something significant is happening. i saw something significant yesterday while i was on the bus, freezing to death. sitting right in front of me, was an old couple. i was bored and the bus wasn't crowded so i started to do my favourite hobby -- people-watch. the bus was uber cold i tell you. the old man was wearing a jacket, the old woman wasn't. then, he took out his jacket, for a moment i thought he was going to fold the jacket and put it back into the backpack that he was carrying on his lap, but no. he reached over and covered his wife with that jacket. and i swear i saw his fingers trembling still.

i know it's common for youngsters to do that now, but how often do you see old couples doing that? by the time 'golden prime age' arrives, many can't be bothered about such nitty gritty details that show care, concern and love about each other anymore. but not this old couple. i was duly impressed.

i understand that everyone wants to be different. but, no matter how different you get, there will always be followers. and for those who strives hard to create a unique image for yourself, there will always be a certain someone who loves to copy flatter you. it's inevitable because people sometimes are lazy to find out for themselves what's best for them, and they conveniently take your idea.

say you bought a shirt. the shirt comes in many colours. you love that shirt alot. friend A sees you wearing it and buys it too. one is fine. friend A continues to get all the other colours available because it is nice. friend A wears it show others faster than you actually get to. and when you finally wear that shirt, others' comments were like "hey friend A has this shirt too! you copy friend A one ah?" despite that comment being harmless, you can't help but feel disappointed because this shirt does not represent you anymore. it represents friend A too. and because friend A has more of them and wears it faster than you do, the shirt represents friend A, MORE THAN it represents you.

there is no way you can prevent a person from copying, sorry wrong word, flattering you, because all you can do is to get angry and disappointed, and then resigned to fate. there is another solution though. do not show friend A your purchases, ideas and efforts anymore. and if friend A chides you for not sharing, for anyone's information, SHARING DOES NOT MEAN COPYING.

if you've noticed i've disabled the right click function the moment you guys are reading this. because i see too much plagiarism going on, and it's really infuriating to see something you've put so much effort into, being taken blatantly. i finally understand the logic behind the ban of piracy. oh well, it's easier written than done.

i helped a good friend with his blog codes and all, i can say some of his functions came from mine. but he asked me. the thing was, he bothered to respect and ask if he could do it. i said yes, of course. mavis should know, i'd have really said yes if anyone really bothered to ask me for a favour. the thing is, people always take for granted and that's what i bear grudges with.

this is only a small part of my random thoughts. i have a lot more to go but hey, EC test's tmr and i still have some readings to be done.
