let me tell you guys a police story.

once upon a time, when Kuku and Hehe were in ngee ann poly, Kuku received a call from an unknown number. Kuku freaked out because he was supposed to be serving army for the day, yet he had MC. but when he had MC, he was supposed to stay home as army would call and conduct spot checks. however, as you all know, he was in ngee ann poly at that time. so Kuku picked up the call with a very cautious and worried 'Hello?'. the other side of the line shouted so loud that even Hehe could hear exactly what the other party said.

'Is this Kuku? you are supposed to be on MC right? i'm outside your house now, but you are not at home. Where are you now?'

'Toa payoh, sir. Pharmacy, sir.'

'You went all the way to Toa Payoh's Pharmacy?! Are you with your girlfriend?!'

'Yes sir.' the reason why Kuku said he was with his gf (fake de la, duh) because in army, it's allright if you say you are at your gf's house while being on MC, so long you give army your gf's addy as well.. just explain that there's no one at home who can take care of you, while your gf had the time and was very eng to do that.

'Meet girlfriend say meet girlfriend la! What Toa Payoh Pharmacy! I want you and your girlfriend to be at Police C**t**m**t Complex by 5pm. Is that ok?!'

'Yes sir.'

'Do you know where is that place?!'

'No sir.'

'You don't know and you anyhow say yes sir yes sir?! Are you taking Mrt?'

'Yes sir.'

'it's at O***** P*** Mrt and follow the signs and walk to the place and report to Inspector R** Lim. R-*-* L-I-M. Understand?'

'Yes sir.'

'Do not keep me waiting!'

'Yes sir!'

Kuku hung up and his heartbeat was damn fast. darn, this is the first time he got caught for not staying at home while he was on MC. he was very very afraid, and what's worse, the guy wanted him AND his 'gf' to report to him as well. he thought, whatever did the guy wanted to see his 'gf' for?! Kuku was afraid that he would implicate Hehe. By then, Hehe had overheard the whole conversation (the guy spoke darn loudly) and knew roughly what happened, but she only missed out the part when the guy asked her to meet him as well. So when Kuku told Hehe that she had to go with him, she was shocked too.

But they packed up anyway, and wheezed off to Kuku's house in a cab to take his MC (Kuku gotten it the day before) before proceeding to the whatever place that guy wanted them to report. The cab fare was a hefty $17.50 and Hehe almost got a mild attack because of that. They don't know where to go and asked a security guard (at least Hehe thought he IS a security guard, but why in police uniform?) where to look for Inspector R** Lim. The security guard in police uniform gave a blur face and told them to call the guy again and asked for the floor level. Kuku called again and was told by the guy to go up to level 18. The security guard in police uniform looked at the two youngsters are said, "Level 18? that's CID." He took a second look at them before instructing them where to go.

They went past a number of security checks (Hehe was afraid that her pirated Sims PC game in her laptop bag would get caught, heartbeat superfast leh, then she remembered that it was her modem installation disc that was inside, so no worries) before stopping at a counter to exchange passes using their EZlinks. They were told by the receptionist to sit down for awhile as he informed the necessary person that Kuku and Hehe has arrived. While the say down, in front of them was a big directory board, showing which levels were for which departments. Automatically they took a glance at Level 18, and it said 'Special Investigation'. Both of them looked at each other and were more worried than ever. Kuku was puzzled. SINCE WHEN the army collaborated with the CID to settle matters of... an MC case?!

They were then called to take the lift up to level 18 and 'ding!', the door opened. They looked right, looked left, walked right, and walked left and still there was nobody in sight. They saw a piece of paper where they could check out the various inspectors' extension numbers so that they could contact that guy called R** Lim. Just when KuKu was about to pick up the phone, the door at the other end of the lift lobby sprung open and a cool looking man shouted, "Over here!"

Kuku and Hehe followed the man into the doorway as the man said to Kuku "You are supposed to be on MC right? Why were you out?" They talked as they walked. Hehe followed them closely. Kuku said "I went out to buy food sir. My grandma asked me to as there was no food at home." As the man opened another door he said "'If you were on MC, that means you were unfit for work right? Then how can you go out and buy food? You should stay at home and rest!"

Kuku had nothing else to say to that but a 'Yes sir.'

The man then turned around to Hehe and asked Kuku, 'Is this your girlfriend?'

Kuku had no choice but to say 'Yes sir.'

The man looked at Hehe and said "You can take a seat here. I need to speak to your boyfriend."

They had reached a small lounge where there were sofa seats to which R** Lim was pointing to. Hehe sat down as she watched Kuku walking down a corridor and entering a room with R** Lim.

There was only one thought on her mind.

WHAT ON EARTH WAS GOING ON?!
